So, after a considerable amount of thought (all 10 minutes of it), I decided to try to teach myself a new language.
I decided on German, mainly because German and English are sister languages. Also, I studied a little (a minuscule amount) of German in high school. I can do the numbers up to ten and greet people at any time of the day.
I downloaded an eBook called "German Demystified" from the endoftheinter.net (Thanks Chris) and have got to work.
I figure that if I stick to one section and just pound away at my brain until I can recall it from memory I should be able to speak some broken German in about a month.
First up is the German alphabet, very similar to the English alphabet with a few pronunciation differences. So I will work on drumming this into my brainbox for the next few days when I have the time and I should be able to move on to consonant and vowel combinations in about 2-3 days.
I'll keep you posted.
