So, after a considerable amount of thought (all 10 minutes of it), I decided to try to teach myself a new language.
I decided on German, mainly because German and English are sister languages. Also, I studied a little (a minuscule amount) of German in high school. I can do the numbers up to ten and greet people at any time of the day.
I downloaded an eBook called "German Demystified" from the endoftheinter.net (Thanks Chris) and have got to work.
I figure that if I stick to one section and just pound away at my brain until I can recall it from memory I should be able to speak some broken German in about a month.
First up is the German alphabet, very similar to the English alphabet with a few pronunciation differences. So I will work on drumming this into my brainbox for the next few days when I have the time and I should be able to move on to consonant and vowel combinations in about 2-3 days.
I'll keep you posted.

"Thank God, I thought you'd gone and gothed up."

So, I saw Ariel last night. Caught a quick glimpse from across the bar at The Northern Club and almost had a panic attack. I thought he'd gone goth for a second, until I went to say hi.
He said that he was at a costume party earlier and went as Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII. I didn;t believe him at the time but later, about 3:30am, I saw someone else in a costume.

PS: Sorry about the poor quality photos, holding the Desire steady after a few beers is tricky.

"Oh God, now I've got brain splatter all over me."
We're up to six movies now people. Just watched Punisher: War Zone, decent film and even better than the original Punisher movie that was released in 2004. I think that's all for tonight.
We're right on track (list below). All very good movies. I've got Monsters vs. Aliens, Push, Remember the Titans, Taken, Twilight and Year One ready to go in the next couple of days.

"Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme..."
Okay, we're up to 5. Only 95 to go. I'm making fantastic headway.
Just watched one of my all-time fave movies, Beauty and the Beast. This movie gets me every single time. That part right at the end, when the Beast gets stabbed by Gaston and Belle confesses her love makes me cry like a baby. I recommend it to everyone. EVERYONE.

"Yippie-kai-yay, Motherfucker!"
I've officially changed my mind on the second Die Hard movie. When I first watched it, I thought that it was pretty lame. But after a few more times, including once for this challenge, I've decided that Die Hard 2: Die Harder is okay. It still doesn't match the pure awesomeness that is the original Die Hard but still slightly better that Die Hard With A Vengeance.
Die Hard 4.0 (Live Free or Die Hard) is on par with Die Hard 2 in my opinion.

"Ben, I said Google, not Sizzler"
"I propose a gentleman's agreement!"
I was walking back from the fish and chip shop a few minutes ago and I was thinking about a blog that I read a while ago. Basically, the guy writing said that he would watch 100 movies in 100 days. At the time I thought "That's easy, I could watch 100 movies in less than that."
So, here's the challenge: I will watch 100 movies, opening to closing credits, in 14 days!
I know what you're thinking, "He's crazy! It can't be done!", but I think that it can. I will watch 100 movies between 12:01 a.m. April 6th (today) and 11:59 p.m. April 20th. That's roughly 7.5 per day.
I've already got 2 under my belt. I watched Hancock and Watchmen so that's 2 down, 98 to go.

First post, wow.
Well, this is the first post.
Being the easily bored type, I tend to find myself thinking alot, not about anything, just thinking. My mind tends to make weird connections, linking one topic to another completely unrelated topic via a small, unimportant keyword. I'm not sure why, it just always has. Also, my ability to retain heaps of useless information about just about anything that will never have an effect on me, my friends and family or any of our lives doesn't help my over-thinking.
So, in celebration this 'condition' (for lack of a better term), I've decided to open the 'After-hours Café'! A place where I can post some of those things that I think of when I'm alone: In bed; in the shower; at work. Anywhere that I get time to think, really.
This concludes the first post. First of many, I hope.
